The instructions here: http://kb.odin.com/en/124416 are for Dr. Web, but ideally the same procedures would apply for kav8update.
Remember the keyword here is [...]> /dev/null 2>&1

I don't have that cron installed on my test server so I can't verify the structure of your file to give you the exact statements to modify ...
