Forwarded to devs Disabled Mail Service gets reenabled on service plan changes

TITLE:
Disabled Mail Service gets reenabled on service plan changes
PRODUCT, VERSION, OPERATING SYSTEM, ARCHITECTURE:
Plesk Onyx 17.5 Update #35, Ubuntu 16.04.3
PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
When saving a service plan and it synchronizes, it reenables Mail Service on all unlocked subscriptions that manually disabled it.
This is unforutnate, because the service had been disabled on purpose, as the subscriptions use external mail services.
Reenabling the service means that every domain on the server will not deliver mail correctly anymore to the affected domains.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
  1. Choose an unlocked subscription
  2. Disable the Mail Service
  3. The subscription remains unlocked
  4. Make a change in the service plan, Apply & Sync
ACTUAL RESULT:
The mail service gets reenabled
EXPECTED RESULT:
The mail service should remain disabled

Please provide more details if possible.

I tried to reproduce by creating a new service plan with default values and a new subscription, and indeed the mail service remains off.
However, it happens with my existing subscriptions... I will try to find out what triggers the behavior...
