• Please be aware: Kaspersky Anti-Virus has been deprecated
With the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.64, "Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Servers" will be automatically removed from the servers it is installed on. We recommend that you migrate to Sophos Anti-Virus for Servers.
  • The Horde webmail has been deprecated. Its complete removal is scheduled for April 2025. For details and recommended actions, see the Feature and Deprecation Plan.
  • We’re working on enhancing the Monitoring feature in Plesk, and we could really use your expertise! If you’re open to sharing your experiences with server and website monitoring or providing feedback, we’d love to have a one-hour online meeting with you.

Hourly I am receiving email notifications from Dr.Web (Plesk 9.5 / Linux), and I still couldn't find any solution

Hi. This is the qmail-send program at h718566..
I'm afraid I wasn't able to deliver your message to the following addresses.
This is a permanent error; I've given up. Sorry it didn't work out.

<drweb@h7134538566.>:

--- Below this line is a copy of the message.

Return-Path: <anonymous@h7134538566.>

Message-ID: <20120212130007.1320.qmail@h7134538566.>
From: root@h7134538566.(Cron Daemon)
To: drweb@h7134538566.
Subject: Cron <drweb@h7134538566> /opt/drweb/update.pl
X-Cron-Env: <SHELL=/bin/sh>
X-Cron-Env: <HOME=/var/drweb>
X-Cron-Env: <PATH=/usr/bin:/bin>
X-Cron-Env: <LOGNAME=drweb>
X-Cron-Env: <USER=drweb>

Not working solutions:
1. Changing the drweb.ini is NOT working out (see all other threads in the KB)
/etc/drweb/drweb32.ini

[Updater]

;CronSummary = { Yes | No }
; The Dr.Web Updater prints out a result of update session to stdout if
; this option is set to “yesâ€. This feature can be used for an adminstrator
; notification by e-mail if the updater is executed by cron.
CronSummary = No #yes

2. Generating a valid email is not possible
How can I generate an email with the server name as domain ? Every email must be a valid domain name, otherwise I can't pick it up with POP3.

So, why is it not possible to tell Dr.Web another email address ? Why couldn't Plesk fix this problem until it exists from version 9.2 ?
Has anybody a working solution (not windows please).

A suggestion.....

The problem is resolvable when changing the CronSummary option.

However, it is always good to restart drweb again, making sure that changes are loaded properly.

Furthermore, the current issue is an regarding a not existing drweb@.... mail address.

Another issue is the amount of update notifications being sent to the non-existing mail address.

The solution of the CronSummary option is stopping ALL update notifications.

If you want to receive those update notifications, you can

a) create the drweb@..... mail address, OR

b) change the receiver mail address for update notifications to another mail address, with this change being required in the drweb settings files (and again note, a restart of drweb is advisable)

If you want to minimize the number of update notifications, just adjust the drweb settings (and restart)

Any troubles in doing so? Just post a reply and I will investigate for you.

Kind regards
