• Halloween is coming! To celebrate the occasion, we dusted off a couple of old skins, and even created a brand new one (Pixel).
To get into the festive spirit, install the Skins extension.
  • The new Python extension is now available. It allows customers to deploy and manage WSGI-based Python applications on their websites directly from Plesk.
  • The Plesk Mobile apps for iOS and Android and the Plesk Mobile Center extension have been deprecated, and are no longer available for new installations. In Plesk Obsidian 18.0.84, the Plesk Mobile Center extension will be removed from servers during the upgrade, and the Plesk Mobile apps will lose their server management features.
  • The Social Login extension has been deprecated and will be removed in Plesk Obsidian 18.0.84. After that, it will no longer be possible to log in to Plesk with a Google, Facebook, GitHub account, or with a passkey. Plesk usernames and passwords, as well as logging in with a WebPros Account, are not affected.

Resolved ERROR: PleskDBException: Unable to connect to database

core2

New Pleskian
version: 12.5.30 Ubuntu 14.04 1205160608.09

We are getting the following error while trying to access the plesk panel

"ERROR: PleskDBException: Unable to connect to database: mysql_connect(): No such file or directory /var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock (Error code: 2002). Please check that database server is started and accessible. (Abstract.php:69)"

MySQL works fine and even the web applications running without any problems. We have checked the KB and there similar issues but not the same scenario. (in our case mysql seems to be running)

Any help greatly appreciated

@IgorG Thank you! We have checked through those instructions and didn't find it helpful as it only explains the solution to start mysql if it's not running. In our case mysql service running without any issues. Only plesk interface is not working!

@IgorG Haven't tried it yet, is it safe to run the command 'plesk repair db -v' or restoring a backup version? we are trying to fix the issue without interrupting the application!
