External SMTP Server instead of Postfix

New Pleskian
Hello,
Newbie here. I just installed Plesk WebApp edition (v12.0.18 Update #68) for the first time yesterday, and i really like it. I wanted to use an external SMTP server - Mandrill instead of Postfix, so i uninstalled Postfix from the "add remove programs", and enabled the "MSMTP relay only mailserver (SMTP client)" option.

Everything seemed to be in place, and i filled in the right credentials, but it just does not work :|
I don't get it. Is there a bug, or am i doing something silly?
Thanks!

"does not work" is really not enough to help you. Any logs, detail, results of troubleshooting?
Have you read this thread before posting?

Putting in very simple words - adding an external SMTP in plesk 12 does not work in the standard procedure that is mentioned in the docs. I don't get any errors, and Mandrill does not show any signs either.
There are some articles on some workarounds. But are you missing the point ? -- The standard way to add and external SMTP does not work, and i think being the 2nd largest Control Panel, you guys might want to fix it.
