• The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Full SMTP loging

JLChafardet

Regular Pleskian
Would be really nice to have full SMTP loging as a possible option.

this can help server owners to determine which accounts are sending more email than others, and even which ones are used for spaming.

There are no significant loging for smtp messages.

would be really nice to see

FROM ADDRESS, TO ADDRESS, Date of delivery[DD/MM/YYYY HH:MM:SS] logs

it also could serve for proving to clients the mailserver works as it should.

to sergius:

Thanks for scheduling this, this feature, may look silly to some people, but I have noticed, that if we can have log of smtp activity, we can provide our customers a better service, so, implementing to plesk this feature, would allow you to offer your customers a better product and a way to offer their customers a better service.

would be really nice to have the logs system wide ( /var/log/mail/smtp-activity.log ) and through plesk interface.

if we can have on this logs:

DATE (request to send mail date)
MSG ID (qmail mail id)
SENDER (address sending the mail)
RECEIVER (address receiving the mail)
DELIVER DATE (date the mail was delivered)
and if possible
TARGET SERVER (server which should receive the mail)

that would give us an amazing control and a very very good way to monitor the activity of our clients.

Hi,

Meanwhile you can try isoqlog for monitoring qmail's activity, its simple and easy to install, works with plesk. It doesn't show all the graphs and stats I'd like to see, but at least I can spot who are the ones abusing.

I'm using it for my mail servers running rhel5 with plesk 8.2 and 8.4.

Here's a sample:

not a bad solution, just installed it, and will keep it working until Parallels releases more loging, i think mail log should be stored on a domain basis, on the /statisstics folder of every domain. IN AND OUT loging. that should give us more control, and help us to locate abusers (if any)

ok, testing it, it is not even near of what i need. it doesnt show the information that is needed in order to perform proper log analisis. its a good tool indeed, but not what is needed for sysadmins to take action nor to discover abusers.
