Resolved How to reinstall proftpd?

Hi there. I tried various things to reinstall proftpd but failed.
First the GUI fails to install it..
even the command line has issues. I tried both psa-proftpd and proftpd:

# plesk installer --select-release-current --install-component=psa-proftpd

Likewise
# plesk installer --remove-component=psa-proftpd

returns:
You already have the latest version of product(s) and all the selected components installed. Installation will not continue.

plesk installer fixed it by updating a bunch of stuff and installing psa-proftpd in the process.
