  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Question Is the Microsoft OneDrive Backup extension still free

saelwell

New Pleskian
Server operating system version
AlmaLinux 9.5 (Teal Serval)
Plesk version and microupdate number
Plesk Obsidian 18.0.67 Update #3 Web Pro Edition
I am migrating from a source server (Ubuntu 20.04.6 LTS) to a new
server (AlmaLinux 9.5 (Teal Serval) ). On the source server I have the free version of the Plesk Microsoft
Backup extension. On the new server I only seem to have a paid version. Is the free version no longer
available? If it is still free, how do I install it?

Many thanks for any information.

Stephen

Hello, Stephen. You should be able to install the Microsoft OneDrive Backup extension without a paid license. When you navigate to Extensions > Extension Catalog > Microsoft OneDrive Backup, you should be presented with two options "Buy" and "Get it Free". When installed, you should see the option for Remote Storage in Tools & Settings > Backup Manager. If that's not the case on your end. Please confirm what options you see prior to the installation of the extension.

Thanks for your reply. The problem was that there was no option to configure the extension. Going to Tools, Backup Manager, Remote Storage Settings, the only extension displayed was FTP(S). On the old server, there was a configuration icon displayed there.

I had to uninstall and reinstall the extension, when the configuration option reappeared under Remote Storage Settings.

All seems to be working OK now but I don't know why the extension hadn't installed correctly.

Thanks, Stephen
