Issues Migration from Plesk 9.6 to Plesk 11

    I did extensive search and followed number of suggestion for the migration of domains from Plesk 9.5 to 11. I didn't have a single breathrough.

    I am not sure whether Plesk 11 can transfer sites from Plesk 9.5, however here are the steps I followed

    1. I switched off the firewall at both server.
    2. I ran Plesk Migration Agent for Plesk 9.5 in windows server where plesk 9.5 is installed (source host).
    3. I checked whether i can access the SMB or File sharing.. \\xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx\c$ , with given Admin / pass I can see source C drive from target Plesk (where I installed plesk 11)
    4. I intiated the migration but I received

    Error: Connection to host is not available or migration agent is not running on the source host

    I did follow the KB you had mention in your reply. ( http://kb.parallels.com/1432 )

    Since, Both the firewall is switched off. I have no issue in accessing all these ports without issue.

    For PMM:
    TCP 6489 (by default or other custom)

    For data transferring on Windows source servers:
    TCP 135
    TCP 139
    TCP 445
    UDP 137
    UDP 138

    For data transferring on Linux source server:
    TCP: 22



    The server's network settings "Client for Microsoft Networks" and "File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks" is present. Also to ensure the shared drive can be accessed, I checked whether i can access the SMB or File sharing.. \\xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx\c$ , with given Admin / pass I can see source C drive from target Plesk (where I installed plesk 11) "

    As per the KB, I am made sure the "Server" service is running on the source server.

    To ensure further, I checked all the ports via manual telnet, and they are accessible from the target plesk to source plesk, I did a telnet on each port from the target plesk to source plesk. All can be accessed.

    Not sure, what went wrong, what logs I can share with you to get at least some hints of the root cause.

    Are you sure that Migration Agent is installed on both servers?

    Yes I installed Agent in both server. Plesk 9.5 agent in source server and Plesk 11 agent in Target server.

    Plesk Migration Manager checks the hostname of the source and destination server. Hostname is used for migration.
    If both servers has identical hostname, migration is not possible. Make sure that server hostnames are different.

    Both (source and destination)server has unique hostname. we checked it from both CMD and Server Manager.

    Issues Migration from Plesk 9.5.4 to Plesk 11.0

    Greetings,

    We followed the link with the following information:

    Basic Requirements for Free Assistance:

    You must be the Owner of a valid and active Parallels Plesk Panel 11 license, and
    You must have made at least one attempt to install, migrate or upgrade (either from an older version of Parallels Plesk Panel or a competing product)
    In case of migration source and destination Operating Systems must be similar in nature. Example "Linux to Linux" or "Windows to Windows".
    If target upgrade server or migration source server is operating with Parallels Plesk Panel, it must be of revision 7.5.4 or higher.

    All are fine. But while we follow below link:

    We got succes and have Msg like "Thank You......................"
    We waited for ticket information, but still we didn't get any mail from Plesk People. Can you help us for that?

    Not at all. We filled the form with server details but didn't get any mail from Plesk about ticket ID.

    Looks like there were some problems with server yesterday and ticket has not been created.
    Please try submit request again. Now it should works correctly.
