I would like to know what mail server options are 8.1 users looking into or have decided to use.

So far MailEnable is 1 choice i am considering but would like to have other options.

hMailServer looks very nice and it also has IMAP support (which MailEnable Standard doesn't and you need to get ME Professional for it, $200), but hMailServer doesn't have any features to allow clients to manage their own spam filters in Plesk or to enable/disable it and we had some problems with this in the past. The good thing about this, however is that you can install whatever spam filter you want in hMailserver and you'll find some great options in the forum.

if you are using your server for fun only and not to do a serious business with then hmailserver is ok. But I would never recommend you using a Free source email servers on a production server, remember:"You ALWAYS get what you are paying for"

Mailenable is way better or if you like a professional mail server go with Merak.

regards

Spam is certainly something inportant, mailenable is nice, seen it installed already. But hmail is free, and merak is pricy, although its profesional.

Might try hmail and let you all know how it goes :)
