• Hi, Pleskians! We are running a UX testing of our upcoming product intended for server management and monitoring.
    We would like to invite you to have a call with us and have some fun checking our prototype. The agenda is pretty simple - we bring new design and some scenarios that you need to walk through and succeed. We will be watching and taking insights for further development of the design.
    If you would like to participate, please use this link to book a meeting. We will sent the link to the clickable prototype at the meeting.
  • (Plesk for Windows):
    MySQL Connector/ODBC 3.51, 5.1, and 5.3 are no longer shipped with Plesk because they have reached end of life. MariaDB Connector/ODBC 64-bit 3.2.4 is now used instead.
  • The Horde webmail has been deprecated. Its complete removal is scheduled for April 2025. For details and recommended actions, see the Feature and Deprecation Plan.

Plesk Obsidian v18.0.58_build1800240123.15 os_Debian 12.0
Hello,

I'm currently in the process of migrating an account from cPanel to Plesk. The migration system has successfully created all the mailboxes with credentials on the Plesk server. However, upon logging into one of the mailboxes, I've noticed issues with the content:
  • While some / very few emails show up correctly.
  • Some emails are appearing empty (lacking sender, subject, and content).
  • Certain emails display random body content, resembling binary data.
  • Despite an inbox badge indicating 20 new emails, only 2 empty ones are visible.
Any insights into what might be causing these issues would be greatly appreciated.

I also noticed that most of the folders of the inbox just list one "empty" e-mail, when I click that, it triggers a warning in /var/log/plesk-roundcube;

[13-Feb-2024 16:38:17 UTC] PHP Warning: Attempt to read property "charset" on bool in /usr/share/psa-roundcube/program/lib/Roundcube/rcube_storage.php on line 466

Do you see the same "wrong" formatted emails and structure when opening emails through an external email client, e.g. Thunderbird?

I tried IMAP using Thunderbird, messages in some folders are being listed. But when you open them the body stays blank. I tried Apple Mail and turn on debugging logging. I think there is a server-side problem;

Code:
* 24 FETCH (INTERNALDATE "22-Jun-2022 13:36:57 +0200" UID 25 RFC822.SIZE 314624 FLAGS (\Seen) BODY[HEADER.FIELDS (DATE SUBJECT FROM TO CC MESSAGE-ID IN-REPLY-TO REFERENCES CONTENT-TYPE X-PRIORITY X-UNIFORM-TYPE-IDENTIFIER X-UNIVERSALLY-UNIQUE-IDENTIFIER LIST-ID LIST-UNSUBSCRIBE BIMI-INDICATOR BIMI-LOCATION X-BIMI-INDICATOR-HASH AUTHENTICATION-RESULTS DKIM-SIGNATURE)] {2}

)
* 25 FETCH (INTERNALDATE "22-Jun-2022 10:02:31 +0200" UID 26 RFC822.SIZE 5355 FLAGS (\Seen))
* BYE FETCH failed: Internal error occurred. Refer to server log for more information. [2024-02-13 20:10:38]

In /var/log/maillog I see;

Code:
Feb 13 20:11:25 srv002 dovecot[840]: service=imap, [email protected], ip=[x.x.x.x]. Error: Mailbox INBOX: UID=3478: read(/var/qmail/mailnames/xxxxxxxxx.nl/xxxxxx/Maildir/cur/1680784388.M317771P20149.srv001.xxxxxxx.nl,S=18105,W=18418:2,FS) failed: Cached message size larger than expected (18105 > 7044, box=INBOX, UID=3478)

Private data manually obfuscated with "x" character in the text above.

Here some views on the message file. In the folder itself I see a mixture of files containing human readable data (mail message format).. and ones that contain binary garbage.

I can only recommend to contact Plesk support for an in-depth investigation of this issue.
To sign-in to support please go to https://support.plesk.com

If you experience login issues, please see this KB article:
https://support.plesk.com/hc/en-us/...rt-plesk-com-and-password-reset-does-not-work

If you bought your license from a reseller, your reseller should provide support for you. If the reseller does not provide support, here is an alternative:
https://support.plesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/12388090147095-How-to-get-support-directly-from-Plesk-
This includes a 30 days free trial, so support will stay free if you cancel before the 30 days free trial period (but even if you don't it'll be very cheap and could be cancelled every month).
