Migrating from 7.5.6 to 8.4

I'm a bit confussed as to which Migration Manager to use for each server - since they need to be running the same version. Does anyone know if I should install 7.5 Migration manager on my new 8.4 server and the 7.5 agent on the 7.5 server (source - which runs 7.5.6.) or install 8.4 Migration Manager on the destination server (8.4) and 8.4 agent on the source server (source running 7.5.6).

I'm thinking 7.5 Manager on the new server and 7.5 Agent on the old (source) server.

Any help is appreciated.

Please, install PMM and PMM Agent of latest version for your Plesk you want migrate to.

If you want to migrate to Plesk 8.4, you should install PMM for Plesk 8.4.

I will be doing a very similar plesk server migration myself soon, my old server plesk 7.5.6 to a new one with plesk 8.3 both on windows 2003, I'm new to migration manager here also.

I'm looking at these instructions now, but i havent done any tests.

The link you post is valid for PMM Plesk for Unix only.

Plesk for Windows has it's own PMM.

I can't install PMM Agent 1.13 on a 7.5.6 Server "Plesk Migration Manager 1.13 works only with Plesk 8.4 for Windows."

Not to mention, "Make sure that versions of Migration Agent (pmm_agent_buildXXXXXX.XX.msi) and Migration Manager (pmmxx_buildXXXXXX.XX.msi) are the same (i.e. the part "XXXXXX.XX" is the same in the names of both files)."

So, I need to have both versions of either PMM 1.13 on my old server (running 7.5.6) and the new server (running 8.4) or the old version of PMM on the old and new server.

Please install PMM for Plesk 8.4 at Plesk 8.4.

Please install PMM Agent the same version to the source host (the host where you migrate from - Plesk 7.5.6 in your case as i understand).
