  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.

Question mysql upgrade - pp: "The component was not installed"

Hi TobiasP,

do you experience any "issues"? ( apart from the output state "The component was not installed" )
What does is show at "Home > Tools & Settings > Database Servers"? ( which version? ) And can you login to PHPmyAdmin, which the provided link on this page?

"Database Servers" reports everything as it should be. so only the server components does not report the installed version. And I noticed no other issues.

Hi TobiasP,

actually, the documentation and the navigation title "Server components" is a bit misleading. If you go to this page, it will be a bit more clear, because then the title on top changes to "Home > Tools & Settings > Plesk Components" and the state "The component was not installed" just declares, that you didn't install a "Plesk-shipped" MySQL - version and no version, which seems to be defenied as "compatible" with your Plesk version. I would declare it as a sort of "Layout bug", or something similar, because it doesn't cause any failures/issues/problems.

yes, I'm not that unsettled by the whole thing because everything is working properly. But as there is afaik no plesk shipped MySQL (Plesk always uses the MySQL from the linux distribution) and the KB on the mysql update is an official plesk KB I just expected plesk to recognise the version as "compatible"
