Important New Plesk webmail / SOGo Webmail extension

Changing password is not implemented? Or am i missing something? Enabling it in SOGo works only in the UI but doesnt change the password everywhere and it breaks.

Hi,

if I mark an incoming mail as spam/junk, it's not reminding my selection, and after a few days I get the same trash delivered to my inbox. Any idea how to come around this? I don't want to blacklist each sender every time...

Hello everyone, i have a Problem with ActiveSync and sogo webmail.

If i enter as E-Mail Server webmail.DOMAIN.com like it was with plesk premium mail a connection couldn't be established.
Does anybody know the mail server that i have to use when i will use activesync with sogo?

Hi,
First of all, thanks for this great extension!
I have 1 Question and 1 Problem using SoGo on my Plesk Server:

My Question: @Dennis Rahmen I have tried to install ActiveSync following your instructions, but I am failing on the first step:
sudo apt install sogo-activesync
--> this package is unavailable for me
apt install only suggests "sogo" and "sogo-common"

Config: Debian 11 / Plesk 18.0.55 / Sogo Webmail Extension: 1.1.1-137 / SOGo (5.0.1)
What am I missing? Maybe that I chose "Stable" instead of "Nightly"? Or is there another deb-source missing?
Thanks for your help!

My Problem: The Mail-Filter isn't working. I have added some filters in webmail to sort incoming mails to folders. Even the simplest test-filter won't work, all mails coming to inbox.

I have checked the logs, maybe there is a problem with the sieve scripts?!
Is there a general problem with filters or is it unsupported at the moment?
Or do I have a problem or miss something in my configuration?
Maybe someone could help me out a little bit :D

The error occurs when I want to install activesync.
I am currently using debian 11, as debian 12 does not yet work in plesk.
For Debian 11 the activesync plugin from SoGo is only available in the nightly builds.
To install this I have to add the following source:

Code:
deb https://packages.inverse.ca/SOGo/nightly/5/debian/ bullseye bullseye

After running apt-get update and then "apt install sogo-activesync" I get the error.
root@cp ~ # sudo apt install sogo-activesync

E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)

An apt autoremove doesn't work after that either, because there are unmet dependencies.
apt --fix-broken install also fails

Sorry for double posting....

MaTex had the same Problem with Debian 11
My Question: @Dennis Rahmen I have tried to install ActiveSync following your instructions, but I am failing on the first step:
sudo apt install sogo-activesync
--> this package is unavailable for me
apt install only suggests "sogo" and "sogo-common"
Because of this problem I have added the additional package to be able to use activesync at all.
but apparently the nightly version I added is no longer compatible with the plesk version.

Maybe the Problem?!

Code:
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
sogo-activesync : Depends: sogo (= 5.9.0.20231120-1) but it is not going to be installed
Depends: libsope-appserver4.9 (>= 4.9.r1664.20230927) but it is not going to be installed
Depends: libsope-core4.9 (>= 4.9.r1664.20230927) but it is not going to be installed
Depends: libsope-gdl1-4.9 (>= 4.9.r1664.20230927) but it is not going to be installed
Depends: libsope-ldap4.9 (>= 4.9.r1664.20230927) but it is not going to be installed
Depends: libsope-mime4.9 (>= 4.9.r1664.20230927) but it is not going to be installed
Depends: libsope-xml4.9 (>= 4.9.r1664.20230927) but it is not going to be installed

Here are the instructions for activesync with SoGo in Plesk ;)
However, these instructions do not work under Debian 11

After a Plesk-to-Plesk-Hosting-Migration group-calenders and rights to mailboxes and adress-books given to other SOGo-users seem to be lost.
Can I transfer these manually?

Hi @hexx_network,

Yes, this is one of known limitations mentioned on the first post. This is a standard behaviour of Plesk regarding additional data created in webmails, similar threads could be also found for Roundcube on the forum, e.g.: Resolved - Migrate Roundcube to new Server (with contacts).

At the same time, technically, it seems it possible to transfer the information manually from one server to another,
So, first of a word of warning. Preform this migration at you own risk. Create back-ups (copies) of the database before doing a migration. Migration should be strait forward, but having back-ups is always a good precaution.

(c) the thread about Roundcube
All this information is saved inside one of databases / tables. The name of the database is random generated, it means when you export the data from a table on one server, you need to import the data into a database with differ name on the second server. On this post, you can find details on how to find the right name of the database.

I am working in the sogo-Database now.
I found a database-update SQL-Script.

update sogo_folder_info set \
c_location = replace(c_location, 'OLD_PARAMETER', 'NEW_PARAMETER'), \
c_quick_location = replace(c_quick_location, 'OLD_PARAMETER', 'NEW_PARAMETER'), \
c_acl_location = replace(c_acl_location, 'OLD_PARAMETER', 'NEW_PARAMETER');

The users seem to have individual parameters per folder or object.

The migration-project exeeded the planned time now and is cancelled.
Because the hosting of SOGo with the plesk-extension uses the same database-instance for all hosted domains, it is extra-work to divide the data for a single-domain export.
The "NEW_PARAMETER" has to be read manually - so the migration is a lot of work - too much work. :)

Next try was to "Export" everything (calender and contacts) - user by user - and import it on the new plesk server.
Mail are migrated by plesk automatically. That was a working solution.
Just all set rights were gone and CalDAV CardDAV do not work any longer.

Due to the trouble with migration and lack of stability we discontinued to use the plesk-SoGo Extension now.
An export of individual calenders and contact-lists via the webgui of sogo was possible. We imported the exports into a nextcloud installation, which covers most of SoGo functionality. About 3% of calender-entries and contacts were lost in this process due to invalid sogo-export entries. These data was entered into nextcloud manually.

My advice: Only use the sogo-extention of plesk, if you want to just take a one-time look onto the sogo gui.

When is SOGo going to be compatible with Ubuntu 24.04? After dist-upgrade we noticed a 502 error, tried to reinstall the extension and got another error. The incompatibility should be noted on https://support.plesk.com/hc/en-us/...s-Plesk-support-Ubuntu-24-04-LTS-Noble-Numbat.

Thank you for the feedback, I have submitted a bug-report ([...]) regarding the issue. It seems it is already a known issue with ID EXTPLESK-5538.
Unfortunately, we can't fix the issue right now because Ubuntu24 does not contain packages for SOGo, and the SOGo documentation does not contain data that Ubuntu24 is supported.

We will update the article with known limitations, thank you!
