PHP not always sending mail

Hi. Applications like wordpress etc can send email fine, but attempted signups with some apps i run (vanilla forum, cerberus support center) refuse to send out welcome/registration emails.

Running Fedora 6 / fresh Plesk 8.1 install.. any advice?
