Plesk 11 Upgrade Scheduled Backup not working

Hi,

Thanks it fixed the backup problem.. :)

Actually I noticed that my cron jobs were missing.

I have created custom cron jobs again.

Is there any option to create a weekly and daily backup at time in Plesk? or any custom script?

Igor, another information about the problem with remote host (Personal FTP repository).

I have made a backup (not a schedule) with theses parameters : Store backup in "Personal FTP repository", Back up : "Server configuration".
RESULT : OK. The file is on the "Personal FTP repository".

Another test vith a backup (not a schedule) with theses parameters : Store backup in "Personal FTP repository", Back up : "Server configuration and content".
RESULT : Backup ok but the file isn"t in the remote FTP ("Personal FTP repository") but in the "Server repository".

Erwan, have you found a solution for this?

Hello Dragomir,

No, and it's a big problem for me (no backup since 1 month).
I don't understand why Parallels don't work about that. We are not alone with this problem and it appear that it's a Plesk problem....

I must create my backup process.
Question : which files from the local backup must be saved ?

Backup on FTP doesn't work after patch install_cron_backup.zip

Try to use attached script and inform me with results.

I installed the patch - install_cron_backup.zip (460 Bytes) - and I followed the installation instructions in this page:

But CRON backup FTP still does not work.

In my LOGS of CRON, I get this error:

October 7 1:31:28 p.m. SERVEURABC crond [3260]: (root) BAD FILE MODE (/ etc / cron.d / plesk-backup-manager)

That would be a solution?

My configuration : PLESK 11.0.9#17 / Centos 6.2 final 64bit

Make sure that you have correct permissions there:

# ll /etc/cron.d/plesk-backup-manager
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 122 Oct 10 05:39 /etc/cron.d/plesk-backup-manager

Remote FTP doesn't upload

Hello Igor,

I tried to search for the logs, but no errors appear. Looks like it just skips the file uploading to remote host.
I was receiving the following email:

Backup task finished.
Task was created by with guid (85b522b3-fa3f-4db8-913b-3465b987d0dc)
Creation date is: 2012-Oct-15 00:31:26
Task status is: success
Dump full name is:

And there was no dump full name. Maybe it doesn't generate the name right, so it couldn't upload. One another strange thing, the new backups are .XML (I can see only XML in the plesk panel, also where it's physically located.), and the ones I had before are TAR.GZ. I cannot even download the backup files.. it just redirects back to the list with backups.

Maybe it's because the backup file is too large (~10 GB)

The ftp server logs doesn't show any attempt of connections from the hosting server.

Problems with repeated backups

I'm using 11.0.9 Update #20, last update Oct 24, 2012 08:11 AM

It's a new installation on 24 october and I have problems because plesk is executing backups two times instead one.

At first, I had Plesk configured to create backups at 04:00 am and then I have changed this value to 03:00 in Scheduled backup settings, but now plesk is doing backup at 03:00 and at 04:00 but in Server repository only appears the 03:00 backup but in /var/lib/psa/dumps/ are both.

Here the list in Server repository list:

Oct 28, 2012 03:07 AM backup_info_1210280307.xml 3.36 GB
Oct 27, 2012 03:07 AM backup_info_1210270307.xml 2.29 GB
Oct 26, 2012 03:07 AM backup_info_1210260307.xml 320 KB
Oct 25, 2012 03:07 AM backup_info_1210250307.xml 288 KB
Oct 25, 2012 12:22 AM backup_info_1210250022.xml 288 KB

And here the /var/lib/psa/dumps/ backups:

11061 Oct 25 00:22 backup_domain.org_info_1210250022.xml
11061 Oct 25 03:07 backup_domain.org_info_1210250307.xml
11073 Oct 26 03:07 backup_domain.org_info_1210260307.xml
11985 Oct 27 03:11 backup_domain.org_info_1210270307.xml
20849 Oct 27 19:28 backup_domain.org_info_1210271922.xml
20196 Oct 28 03:15 backup_domain.org_info_1210280307.xml
20872 Oct 28 04:13 backup_domain.org_info_1210280407.xml

92812 Oct 25 03:07 backup_domain.org_vhost_1210250307.tgz
92812 Oct 26 03:07 backup_domain.org_vhost_1210260307.tgz
2457910418 Oct 27 03:11 backup_domain.org_vhost_1210270307.tgz
3609984749 Oct 27 19:28 backup_domain.org_vhost_1210271922.tgz
3609998477 Oct 28 03:15 backup_domain.org_vhost_1210280307.tgz
3610028098 Oct 28 04:13 backup_domain.org_vhost_1210280407.tgz

I need to touch some configuration file to disable the second backup?

Now in Scheduled backup settings there are onle one backup at 03:00 am.

Thanks :)

Fixed, the problem were mine.

I had two different configurations, one for server and other for domain, then, the backups are executing two times.

i have the same problem with back manager.
the file is broken when i try to open.
what happens?
i use plesk 11 fresh install - with last updates

Same problem here: the scheduled backup is now working fine, however it stays on the local server and does not get copied over to the FTP repository. FTP details are correct, and manual backups are created on the repository.

So it looks like there's a problem with copying the backup file over once the backup is finished. Plesk however does not recognize this as an error.

What's happening, Igor?

EDIT: I've just submitted the issue to the support team, will let you know what they say. The Ticket Number is 1514959.
