Plesk Obsidian Version 18.0.21 caused scheduled backups not to run

Will-NYESDigital

Regular Pleskian
Hi there

I am using: OS ‪CentOS Linux 7.7.1908 (Core)‬ Product Plesk Obsidian - Version 18.0.21 Update #1

The problem I have encountered is that scheduled backups have not automatically run over the past 2 days since we upgraded to version 18.0.21

I have two other servers which are running on Version 18.0.20 Update #2 which automatic scheduled backups work fine so this directs me to the fact the new update has caused the problem.

Please advise me in what I can be doing to fix this problem.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Guys

After reading the changelog for Update #2 this problem may have fixed our issue, please see the full statement from Plesk below:

  • Scheduled backups can now be created if the backups owner locale was not defined (set to null). (PPP-46219)

I have checked the availability of the FTP Server with two additional tools Filezilla and ncftp, and both are able to list the content. I also checked with

curl -v --ftp-pasv -u <backupuser> 'ftp://backup.1blu.de//backup/jarf.de/'

This works fine. So I currently fall back to store the backups locally, but the space will exceed fast!!!

A second server (different credentials) has the same problem

Hi all

It was overwritten by the update as follows, and the error came out again. Therefore, cuBackupAgent.php was replaced again.

[centos@ api-common]$ cd /usr/local/psa/admin/plib/api-common/

[centos@ api-common]$ ls -la cuBa*
-rw-r--r--. 1 root root 19538 Nov 29 07:34 cuBackupAgent.php
-rw-r--r--. 1 root root 19538 Nov 23 03:41 cuBackupAgent.php.backup
-rw-r--r--. 1 root root 8506 Nov 29 07:34 cuBackupEncrypt.php
-rw-r--r--. 1 root root 70810 Nov 29 07:34 cuBackupRestoreHelper.php

[centos@ api-common]$ cmp cuBackupAgent.php cuBackupAgent.php.backup

(Nothing is output. Same at binary.)

[centos@ api-common]$

Hello,

The same problem on last night's backup and I applied the temporary fix again. I hope that Plesk will find a final and stable solution quickly, it is annoying to have to monitor the backups of our subscriptions every day.

Well, I still have "Unable to back up protected dir passwords Error: Failed to create archive: Transport error: File or dir pd not exists" on some subscriptions but it's not too serious
Backup in Plesk finishes with warning: Unable to back up protected dir passwords Error: Failed to create archive: Transport error: File or dir pd not exists
