Resolved Plesk Onyx & CentOS 7.4 compatible?

speedbird

Basic Pleskian
Hey guys,
CentOS 7.4 is out now... What about compatibility to Plesk Onyx? Any known issues or is it safe to update?

Thanks!

Usually, we do not experience any significant issue with Centos updates, however, I would recommend to wait until we will pass all integration tests on CentOS 7.4 and announce it officially. I expect this on September 25

I've also updated two dedicated Webservers with Plesk Onyx Version 17.5.3 Update #21 to CentOS Linux 7.4.1708 (Core)‬ without any problems.

I have updated a Plesk Onyx 17.5.3 #21 server to CentOS Linux 7.4.1708 (Core) and the only issue is that all Mailman mailing lists are not working properly at the moment (messages sent to the lists are never received by the recipients). We are currently investigating this.

I do have an issue with updating.

Autoupdate pushed to 7.4.1708 but yum has now stop working....

A word of caution to any users Plesk users upgrading to Centos 7.4 on DIgitalocean. Your droplet will lose network connectivity after the upgrade to 7.4 if its networking is using their new cloud-init scripts. It seems that their cloud-init scripts don't work properly with Centos 7.4 which causes the default gateway not to be set properly after reboot. I had to fix this for a few people now.

Sorry it could also be just droplet specific and not related to Centos 7.4 (Which only showed itself after they were rebooted).

We're having issues as well when updating to Onyx 17.5.3#22 on CentOS 7.4. On at least 2 servers:

Just upgraded the other day a CentOS 7 12.5.30 test instance to Onyx and it went generally well. The nginx binary from sw-nginx-1.11.10-centos7.17032813.x86_64 as shipped by Plesk is linked statically against OpenSSL 1.0.2k so it will survive the OpenSSL 1.0.1e->1.0.2k rebase just fine. The HTTP2 support is still there, tested with Ff, Chrome and curl. All the other services seem to run fine, including the SSL/TLS support in Dovecot. The only glitches encountered:
- Some weird mod_passenger rpm dependency problem, haven't had time to investigate it, removing the Passenger support from Plesk fixed the problem and allowed the installation to continue. Note for Plesk engineers: don't forget to test 12.5.30-17.5.3 with passenger enabled
- CentOS 7.4 kernel doesn't boot as Xen PV domU. Known issue, see 0013763: CentOS 7.4 kernel (3.10.0-693*) fails to boot as Xen PV guest - CentOS Bug Tracker. Need the kernel-plus from centosplus repo.

I would wait, I had several issues similar to #9 and #14. I had to reinstall a lot of packaged and disable SELinux (machine no longer booting), better wait until Plesk finished their integration tests.

Have you tried removing and then reinstalling BIND via Yum? That solved some of my problems caused by this.
