  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Prevent Backup Manager creating daily broken files

aless

New Pleskian
Hello,

after a server migration the Backup Manager keeps performing daily incomplete or broken backups. Note that no schedule is active in Tools & Settings > Backup Manager > Scheduled Backup Settings. This is very annoying, since every day I need to manually remove the failed backup.

Is there a way to stop the Backup Manager performing the automated backup?

But most important, why Backup Manager sistematically fails and generates broken files?

Thanks.

All the best,
alessandro

Make sure that you there are no orphaned backup tasks in /usr/local/psa/PMM/tasks/ directory.
Remove them if necessary.

What about records in BackupsScheduled table of psa database?

Thank you.

I manage backups differently so I think I will go for deleting those rows in the database. Before I do that though, I would like to understand why the backup process regularly fails.

I found this error log:
Line 428 error: Element 'explicit-ip': Missing child element(s). Expected is ( ip-address ).

How can I investigate more the issue in order to solve it?

Thanks, and all the best,
alessandro
