• The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Qmail problems

I had trouble sending email with Outlook (Office version). I read on thiss and other forums that this is a wellknown problem.

Also, I came to the following as a solution:

Bij adding '-Rt0' in the file '/etc/xinetd.d/smtp_psa'

The file then looks like the following:

******** QUOTE *********

Unfortunately I got the following error-message after the change:

Bad operator for attribute: /var/qmail/bin/cmd5checkpw [file=/etc/xinetd.d/smtp_psa] [line=11]

and

Bad operator for attribute: /var/qmail/bin/true [file=/etc/xinetd.d/smtp_psa] [line=11]

Then Qmail was down en didn't restart.

After removing the '-Rt0', the error-message persisted.

I removed the lines: /var/qmail/bin/cmd5checkpw /var/qmail/bin/true

From the file, and it works. I can send e-mail with Outlook, however it seems to be very slow somehow.

I actually don't know what the purpose of the lines are. I am curious if someone knows the meaning and the possible danger of having removed them.

My xinetd file is now as follows:

******** QUOTE *********

I send Plesk an e-mail and they told me that this line should work:

******** QUOTE *********

However, if I restart xinetd, I get the following error-message again:

******** QUOTE *********

Then it's impossible to connect to my SMTP-server.

If I reset the line in the way I had it working, it works again.

Ideas anyone?

Looks like there is no fix for this available at the moment. :(

The old 7.5 solution of adding -Rt0 to the /etc/xinetd.d/smtp_psa and /etc/xinetd.d/smtps_psa does not seem to work with v8 or 8.01.

Or at least nobody has reported success so far.

I'd like to report that smtps is not suffering from the same delays from reverse lookups that the unencrypted smtp is.

Problem is that the configs are identical.

HOLD EVERYTHING!!!!!
When i restarted the xinetd service the reverse lookup delay disappeared in smtp and smtps.

Can anyone else confirm this?
