Reg Back up & restore

can i know the back up & restore option in site builder.if i install site builder in a server.due to some reason that server needs to format after that can i directly get all the site created previously using site builder.for that am i suppose to do any settings or sitebuilder will take care to get all the site add to sitebuilder application poll.please help me in this issue.
