Issue Remote Backup to Microsoft OneDrive Error

No, I am afraid, not yet, @Kolpsc. Our engineers are still troubleshooting this issue and trying to determine the culprit for it. We understand the importance of having healthy backups and we are doing our best to find the root cause of the issue. I would like to thank to everyone for their patience on the behalf of our entire team.

Hello, has this issue been resolved? I've been struggling with my Linux network configurations for about 2-3 days. I initially thought the issue was solely on my end. After days of troubleshooting, I came across this topic. It's truly frustrating to encounter such a problem. I completely reconfigured my server's network settings and iptables multiple times, thinking it might be an issue on my side. I hope this problem gets resolved quickly. At the very least, a notification regarding this issue could have been sent to the Plesk panel. I've been dealing with this for days...

@theposeidonas, we are sorry to hear about the inconvenience caused by this situation. Our engineers are still investigating the case and doing their best to identify and resolve the issue. I will update the thread as soon as there are more details on the matter.

I have more details to share about this issue for anyone interested.

It appears that the issue is being caused by Microsoft OneDrive itself.
Our R&D team has created the following thread on GitHub page of Microsoft Graph and is currently waiting for a response:

At this time, the only available workaround is to temporarily reconfigure Plesk to create backups on an alternative storage solution (either local or remote).
Just in case, here is our KB article for reference:

Everyone, unfortunately, we still have no feedback from Microsoft regarding this case. I am sorry that we cannot provide any relevant feedback yet.

Today the bug started appearing for me as well, on various Plesk servers, the only thing it all has in common is OneDrive. Until 27.11 everything was working normally, since 27.11 no backup has been completed/uploaded. For some of the folders created by Plesk in OneDrive for backup I can see today's date (28.11, as the last modification date), but the "backup file" itself is no longer uploaded there anywhere.

Similar here.

Just an update from my end... I removed the connection to OneDrive and re-added it and for now the backup works again.

Cant edit my reply, so here another update:
It worked for exactly 1 backup, and now the error is back.

When can we expect a fix? Any timeline?

Hello, everyone. Unfortunately, we still have no response from Microsoft on this case. I am attaching a direct link to the GitHub issue created by our R&D team:
They determined that the root cause for the behavior is due to Microsoft's One Drive configuration. In addition, a rework EXTPLESK-6197 is planned to update the msgraph-sdk-php library version in Plesk to potentially address this issue from our side, but we still need confirmation from Microsoft.

In the meantime, if you can enable verbose logging in Plesk, replicate the behavior, collect the newly logged data at /var/log/plesk/panel.log, and forward it to Microsoft in order to bring their attention to the issue it will be great.

Unfortunately, the only alternative we can suggest while we are waiting for a response is to temporarily reconfigure Plesk to create backups on another storage type - local or remote.

Hi,

I am alaso facing same issue from more than one month. struglling diffrent articles, but no result.
I have another server as well, with plesk, and onedrive extention working fine there. that one connected to my diferent OneDrive account.
but one account is not uploading backup on Onedrive, which is strange for me, to have a backup of my data on onedrive.
I am looking, plesk team reply, is that we are strugling, but I think, It is extention issue. If you guide, if we update extension. may it works.

I connected to another OneDrive within the same Office365 family subscription and was able to back up properly for a few days. Then, I decided to switch back to the original subscription, deleting old backups and folders first. Unfortunately, while the connection was successful and folders were created, the backup did not work.

So, I went back to the OneDrive that was working, but that one has very limited space left.

Here’s a tip: Consider taking a free 1-month trial subscription of Acronis. Be sure to avoid the trial via Plesk, as it seems limited to 100GB. Instead, take the trial directly from Acronis. Afterward, create a user, install the extension in Plesk, and use that user. This way, you'll get unlimited backup space for a month.

Now, you just have to wait and hope this gets solved before the trial is over.

Hey, my backups have also not been running for more than two weeks. I get the following error message:

Unable to create the remote backup: Transport error: Extension transport: ext://one-drive-backup/server/: Microsoft OneDrive returns the error: The object specified does not belong to a list.

I have also completely reconfigured the backup once and connected new ones to OneDrive. Unfortunately without success. Is there any official information from Plesk on this topic when the problem will be fixed?
