but psa is not running and i can'tget it to run with psa start either

I have the same problem. I did
/usr/local/psa/admin/sbin/autoinstaller --install-system-only --select-release-latest
and
autoinstaller --select-release-latest --upgrade-installed-components

ERROR: Unable to install the "perl-SOAP-Lite-0.712-10120713.x86_64" package.
Not all packages were installed.
Please, contact product technical support.

Will look around the forum more but been trying to fix this for hours now :(
Worst this is although I have kept all the websites going there is no email and my customers are going nuts at me!

Hope there is a work around soon.

Here is the contents of my /etc/sw-cp-server/config file:

server.modules = ()
server.document-root = "/dev/null"
server.port = 10001
server.bind = "127.0.0.1"
server.pid-file = "/var/run/sw-cp-server.pid"
server.errorlog-use-syslog = "disable"
server.errorlog = "/var/log/sw-cp-server/error_log"
server.username = "sw-cp-server"
server.groupname = "sw-cp-server"

include_shell "/usr/share/sw-cp-server/applications-conf.sh"

Wondered if beamerboyle knew what support did to aid his install which was falling over with the same ERROR: Unable to install the "perl-SOAP-Lite-0.712-10120713.x86_64" package.

Have just tried again using:

run upgrade via /usr/local/psa/admin/sbin/autoinstaller --install-system-only --select-release-latest

Resulting in the same error :(

Update,

Been banging away at this all day!

Did a bit a searching around the server files and found part of my system still refereed to PSA being 10.0.0 version?

So did manual upgrade routine:

/usr/local/psa/admin/bin/autoinstaller

Select options, upgrade failed with database error due to version conflict stating it was 10.8.0 ?

So did following

/usr/local/psa/bootstrapper/pp10.9.0-bootstrapper/bootstrapper.sh repair

and just for good measure

/usr/local/psa/bootstrapper/pp10.10.1-bootstrapper/bootstrapper.sh repair

Now try update again

/usr/local/psa/admin/sbin/autoinstaller --select-release-latest --upgrade-installed-components

Now get erorrs

I have the same files as above giving error on 13 line in /etc/sw-cp-server/config and also /usr/share/sw-cp-server/application-config.sh

So what to do, well simply renamed both .old

EXAMPLE: config.sh.old and config.old

Now rerun update

/usr/local/psa/admin/sbin/autoinstaller --select-release-latest --upgrade-installed-components

Install/update now working as expected, it will complain that it cannot start sw-cp-server and that's to be expected, once finished try the following just for confirmation purposes.

/etc/init.d/psa start

This should now show

/etc/init.d/psa start
Starting psa... failed
Starting xinetd service... done
Starting named service... done
Starting mysqld service... done
Starting postgresql service... done
Starting psa-spamassassin service... done
Plesk: Starting Mail Server... already started
Starting mail handlers tmpfs storage
Starting psa... failed

That's great, now go back and rename both config.sh.old and config.old to

config.sh and config respectively

Once done restart PSA

/etc/init.d/psa start

This should now show

/etc/init.d/psa start
Starting psa... done
Starting xinetd service... done
Starting named service... done
Starting mysqld service... done
Starting postgresql service... done
Starting psa-spamassassin service... done
Plesk: Starting Mail Server... already started
Starting mail handlers tmpfs storage
Starting psa... done

Happy times :) Off for a long sleep!

Tried it but it didn't work for me.
i had to
/usr/local/psa/bootstrapper/pp10.11.0-bootstrapper/bootstrapper.sh repair
and
/etc/sw-cp-server/config and also /usr/share/sw-cp-server/applications-conf.sh

really need help on this, none of my websites or anything are working :(

i used this command
then went to restart sw-cp-server
and still getting stale pidfile [FAILED]

how do i fix this??

What sort of errors you have in /var/log/sw-cp-server/error_log after restarting sw-cp-server?

this is my log as it stands now

also noticed that on the website, where the ciphers are it has a space instead of a :
this might be why mine failed

My sollution to this problem

I have had the same issue upgrading from Plesk 9.5.4 to 10.2.0.

I used the autoinstaller to upgrade. The first upgrade gave me the forementioned error:
ERROR: Unable to install the "perl-SOAP-Lite-0.712-10120713.x86_64" package.

Removing this package solved the dependency problem and the upgrade then worked up to the point where psa wouldn't start with error:
Restarting SWsoft control panels server... Duplicate config variable in conditional 0 global: var.sso_username
2011-04-10 00:26:20: (configfile.c.838) source: /usr/share/sw-cp-server/applications-conf.sh line: 72 pos: 11 parser failed somehow near here: (EOL)
2011-04-10 00:26:20: (configfile.c.838) source: /etc/sw-cp-server/config line: 13 pos: 1 parser failed somehow near here: (EOL) failed
Failed. Can not restart web server.

After a day of digging i found that there were two sw-sso packages installed:
sw-sso-2.3-10092418
sw-sso-2.6-11033111

A simple rpm -e sw-sso-2.3-10092418 did the trick. No new installation, psa now starts without a problem.
I don't use sso so i'm not sure to what extent the single sign-on still works but at least the plesk interface is up again.

Hope this helps some others!

Solution

The problem lies with the fact that there is a conflict between the perl-SOAP-Lite version being deployed and the one already installed.

To get around it, I uninstalled the old one, installed the new one and re-ran the Plesk upgrade. To uninstall, though, you might need to be fairly destructive with the dependency check. This is what I did to get my control panel back up and running:

rpm -e --nodeps perl-SOAP-Lite-0.712-10102009.x86_64

wget http://autoinstall.pp.parallels.com.../pba/perl-SOAP-Lite-0.712-10120713.x86_64.rpm

rpm -ihv perl-SOAP-Lite-0.712-10120713.x86_64.rpm

/usr/local/psa/admin/bin/autoinstaller --select-release-latest --upgrade-installed-components

All is fine in the world again even though it was a little frustrating to have to do this at all.

BTW - Running CentOS 2.6.18-164.11.1.e15 kernel, fwiw
