• Hi, Pleskians! We are running a UX testing of our upcoming product intended for server management and monitoring.
We would like to invite you to have a call with us and have some fun checking our prototype. The agenda is pretty simple - we bring new design and some scenarios that you need to walk through and succeed. We will be watching and taking insights for further development of the design.
If you would like to participate, please use this link to book a meeting. We will sent the link to the clickable prototype at the meeting.
  • (Plesk for Windows):
MySQL Connector/ODBC 3.51, 5.1, and 5.3 are no longer shipped with Plesk because they have reached end of life. MariaDB Connector/ODBC 64-bit 3.2.4 is now used instead.
  • The Horde webmail has been deprecated. Its complete removal is scheduled for April 2025. For details and recommended actions, see the Feature and Deprecation Plan.

Question Smarthost mail relay to be more granular

Shanti

New Pleskian
Server operating system version
Ubuntu 22.04.5 LTS
Plesk version and microupdate number
Plesk Obsidian v18.0.66_build1800250106.19 os_Ubuntu 22.04
I very much welcome Smarthost feature in Server-wide mail settings. However, my VPS has very high mail delivery rate >99% but small number of domains use one specific black lister which operates not on one specific IP address but rather on the whole cloud provider that I use.
So for me doesn't make much sense to increase my monthly costs and move all my mail delivery to alternative provider (e.g. Mailgun) just for those problematic, say, 100 email messages a month.

With that said, for me it would be of super high value if Smarthost would be much more granular e.g.:
  1. If Smarthost could be enabled on per-subscription or per-domain basis rather then just server-wide, or
  2. If Smarthost is server-wide setting but it engages only for admin listed domains (FQDNs)
Does anyone know if there is any way to configure postfix to work as described above, as of now?

As a side note to what Sebahat already posted, you can configure Postfix manually to use a relay server for specific domains (or mailboxes even) outside of Plesk.

This Stackoverflow article does a decent job of explaining the necessary configuration.
