I want to connect via remote to the sqlserver express over tcpip.
Standard installation, sqlexpress installed by plesk, firewall setting for sqlexpress is open.
But I can't connect from remote.

What else to check?

A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: TCP Provider, error: 0 - A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond.) (Microsoft SQL Server, Error: 10060)

yes, it should be enabled.

Can you connect from another machine to it?
can you connect local via TCP to it?

Locally i can connect with e.g. an udl file to the sql server.

Try to connect via tcp locally, when it works from your machine please (not the other server)

OK, fixed the problem.
In the network configuration I had to set the port number to 1433, while there dynamic ports was specified.
Should plesk not be responsible to set this info?
