Hi guys,
I know this has been discussed before but I cant seem to find an answer to my specific question.
I am assisting a customer who is using Plesk 10.4.4 on Ubuntu.
The customer has his domain set up and would like to create a duplicate of this domain for his development and testing.
I cant create a seperate subscription for the subdomain, so I add the subdomain develepment. to his existing subscription.
Plesk tells me that the document root of this new site is '/development' and sure enough there is a new folder in /var/www/vhosts/domain.com/ called development. However there is also a new folder in vhosts aswell, called development.domain.com.
The site is drawing its content from the folder within domain.com so why does plesk also create a folder within vhosts?
Also, from a development and testing point of view, what are the implications of 'sharing' a subscription?
Thanks in advance!
Jonny
