• Debian 11 is approaching its end-of-life (vendor EOL date - August 31, 2026). Plesk Obsidian 18.0.80 will be the last release to support it.
If you are running Plesk Obsidian on Debian 11, we recommend you upgrade those servers to Debian 12 using our dist-upgrade tool.
  • We plan to deprecate and remove the support for XML RPC protocol versions earlier than 1.6.9.1 in Plesk Obsidian 18.0.82. We strongly recommend that you update all existing integrations using earlier versions of the XML RPC protocol to comply with the version 1.6.9.1 specification.

Resolved The System Updates tool is already installing updates in automatic mode. Please try later.

Basic Pleskian
I am getting "The System Updates tool is already installing updates in automatic mode. Please try later." when trying to update system components on Onyx 17.0.x.
  • I don't have system components set to automatically update.
  • I do have Plesk + third party components set to automatically update.
I tried disabling auto updates for Plesk + components but that did not work.

This is happening on two servers and is a recent problem.

Sounds like something isn't working correctly in Plesk.

Hi GlennT,
( and Hi malfunction, )

in case of a message like:

The System Updates tool is already installing updates in automatic mode. Please try later
pls. make sure to check with

Code:
ps -aux | grep installer
and/or
Code:
ps aux | grep yum
Code:
ps aux | grep apt
( depending to your current operating system! )

... that there is no other instance currently running on your server, as there is only ONE instance allowed. Unfinished or orphanded processes might interfere here, which should be corrected, before you continue.

Thanks UFHH01, that was helpful, I found some stray yum processes running. Killing those wasn't all of it, still left a bit of a mess of incomplete updates, but I was able to sort that out and we're back to normal now.
