Issue Unable to open 443 port to reinstall licence key

niguleseo

New Pleskian
Hello

I am unable to access my Plesk dashboard (1&1 provider - CentOS 7) because I have to update my Plesk Licence Key and when I try to add my new licence key I have message error “Could not update the license. Make sure that connections to the license server ka.plesk.com on TCP port 443 are not blocked.”

Then I have tried to open the 443 using SSH but I did not succeed.

I have tried several things … here below.

Someone has same issue ?

Thanks

The famous rule #1 of the internet has hit you: It's always DNS!

Check your /etc/resolv.conf and make sure the nameservers listed there are reachable and can be used.
If in doubt, add "nameserver 8.8.8.8" and "nameserver 1.1.1.1" to your resolv.conf and try again.

Hello

Thank for you reply.
I have tried several things (check here below) ... but still stuck

1.

Thats not how that works. A .conf file is, as the file extension suggests, a configuration file. Hence it can not be executed when typing /etc/resolv.conf. You can open the file with a file editor like vim or nano (nano /etc/resolv.conf) and edit the configuration like @Monty suggested.

Thank you for explanation. The main issue is that i can not install any packages .... and nano is not installed already.
Each time i have same issue => Cannot find a valid baseurl for repo: base/7/x86_64

One of the configured repositories failed (Unknown),
and yum doesn't have enough cached data to continue. At this point the only
safe thing yum can do is fail. There are a few ways to work "fix" this:

1. Contact the upstream for the repository and get them to fix the problem.

2. Reconfigure the baseurl/etc. for the repository, to point to a working
upstream. This is most often useful if you are using a newer
distribution release than is supported by the repository (and the
packages for the previous distribution release still work).

3. Run the command with the repository temporarily disabled
yum --disablerepo=<repoid> ...

4. Disable the repository permanently, so yum won't use it by default. Yum
will then just ignore the repository until you permanently enable it
again or use --enablerepo for temporary usage:

yum-config-manager --disable <repoid>
or
subscription-manager repos --disable=<repoid>

5. Configure the failing repository to be skipped, if it is unavailable.
Note that yum will try to contact the repo. when it runs most commands,
so will have to try and fail each time (and thus. yum will be be much
slower). If it is a very temporary problem though, this is often a nice
compromise:

yum-config-manager --save --setopt=<repoid>.skip_if_unavailable=true

Cannot find a valid baseurl for repo: base/7/x86_64

Here is the result :

[root@a96446a ~]# cat /etc/resolv.conf
# Generated by NetworkManager
search online-server.cloud
[root@a96446a ~]#

OK, your resolv.conf is managed by NetworkManager, so you'll need to learn how to configure NetworkManager and how to add nameservers to your network config.

As a quick temporary workaround you can try to do this:
Code:
echo "nameserver 8.8.8.8" >>/etc/resolv.conf
echo "nameserver 1.1.1.1" >>/etc/resolv.conf

This will add the Google and Cloudflare public resolvers to your resolv.conf. After that, DNS resolution should work on your server.

But be aware: Your changes to resolv.conf are likely to be overwritten on your next reboot!

The proper solution is to use the NetworkManager tools (nmcli and/or nmtui) and add DNS servers to your network configuration.

Ok thank you for this temporary fix ! I have been able to install new licence key ;)
Should i change settings in 'Tools & Setting' in Plesk to avoid this ?

Many thanks for support <3
