• Hi, Pleskians! We are running a UX testing of our upcoming product intended for server management and monitoring.
We would like to invite you to have a call with us and have some fun checking our prototype. The agenda is pretty simple - we bring new design and some scenarios that you need to walk through and succeed. We will be watching and taking insights for further development of the design.
If you would like to participate, please use this link to book a meeting. We will sent the link to the clickable prototype at the meeting.
  • (Plesk for Windows):
MySQL Connector/ODBC 3.51, 5.1, and 5.3 are no longer shipped with Plesk because they have reached end of life. MariaDB Connector/ODBC 64-bit 3.2.4 is now used instead.
  • The Horde webmail has been deprecated. Its complete removal is scheduled for April 2025. For details and recommended actions, see the Feature and Deprecation Plan.

Unable to save email passwords | Plesk Panel 11.x

ChristopheJ

New Pleskian
Hi,

I'm trying to set up email addresses, and i can create as much adresses as needed, but, password is ***never*** saved!

When i hit the "ok" button, i have a message saying that all parameters have been saved. But if i re-open the address configuration page, the password field is empty.

And of course, when i try to configure an email client to access the mailbox, parameters are not found. But i have succeeded to access the mailbox with "no" password.

The problem was present in plesk 11.0.9 and still remains after upgrading to 11.5.30

Any idea?

Thx
Christophe

I can't reproduce this behavior! Can you provide instructions of how we can reproduce it?

Hi Abdi,

And thx for your answer.
I am using the French interface of Plesk. The problem is showing up very easily (at least for me...). I just have to go to "Mail", then choose the mail address i want to manage OR create a new one. The email address configuration page is then opened. See picture below.

I just have to fill the name and the password - twice - and then hit the ok button.
Plesk tells me then that all parameters for this email address are saved.
But, when i re-open this same page, the password fields are both empty (like in picture)...

The password field being empty is OK and NOT a problem. Ideally it means, that if you don't enter any password, the OLD saved password will be maintained. If you enter another password, then it means you wish to change from the OLD to the newly entered password.

Hi Abdi,

I was not sure of this feature since i had problem to configure the access of my email client to the mailbox. But i may have tried too much different solutions and messed up my parameters, since i thought there was a problem there. Seems to be working your way now.

Thanks
Christophe
