• Debian 11 is approaching its end-of-life (vendor EOL date - August 31, 2026). Plesk Obsidian 18.0.80 will be the last release to support it.
If you are running Plesk Obsidian on Debian 11, we recommend you upgrade those servers to Debian 12 using our dist-upgrade tool.
  • We plan to deprecate and remove the support for XML RPC protocol versions earlier than 1.6.9.1 in Plesk Obsidian 18.0.82. We strongly recommend that you update all existing integrations using earlier versions of the XML RPC protocol to comply with the version 1.6.9.1 specification.

Urgent SmarterMail Problem

I have a fairly urgent issue with SmarterMail and Plesk.

First, here are the steps that took place to cause the problem:

My AntiVirus tools were not working properly so I opted to Uninstall them. I went to Add/Remove programs, Plesk, Modify, modified ONLY the antivirus components and proceeded. All completed with no errors.

I go to log into Plesk Control Panel and get "Mail Server" component selection, stating that no email server had been specified. No options were selectable. I did a reconfigurator and SmarterMail reappeared but I could not select it still as the name was all jumbled up and I could not enter the configuration parameters. See the screenshot below:

Now, the problem is my SmarterMail is disconnected from Plesk and Plesk keeps trying to run MailEnable... Any help would be appreciated.

I have tried removing SmarterMail from the registry where you have PLESK, CONFIG, PACKAGES (something to that affect). I've tried manually setting the values. Nothing. I've looked through the PSA Database but can't find anything there that would cause this either.

Any suggestions?

Problem resolved!

I had to install the Plesk 8.1.1 Full Install (to update my 8.1.0). Once this was done, the error was still present. I then installed the 8.1.1.2 update and after a reboot everything was fixed.
