Resolved /var/awp/etc/config: No such file or directory, Failed to update the ModSecurity rule set

A few days ago, all my web servers began producing a 500 error and my server was down for a day before I realised the cause was a missing file :

/etc/httpd/conf/modsecurity.d/rules/tortix/modsec/tortix_waf.conf

I created the missing file by simply touching it. After I restarted apache, all the sites started working again.

I don't know if it is related, but now anacron job 'cron.daily' is reporting:

/etc/cron.daily/aum_nightly.sh: line 2: /var/awp/etc/config: No such file or directory

It seems to be something to do with Atomic?

Perhaps a mod_security rule-set has not applied correctly. Is there anything I should be doing?

Plesk tells me "Failed to update the ModSecurity rule set" and gives me details to click on which shows :

Failed to update the ModSecurity rule set: modsecurity_ctl failed: Command '['sed', '-i', '-e', 's#^MODSEC_RULES_PATH\\s*=.*#MODSEC_RULES_PATH="/etc/httpd/conf/modsecurity.d/rules/tortix/modsec"#g', '-e', 's#^RESTART_APACHE\\s*=.*#RESTART_APACHE="no"#g', '-e', 's#^AUTOMATIC_UPDATES\\s*=.*#AUTOMATIC_UPDATES="no"#g', '-e', 's#^MODSEC_50_PLESK\\s*=.*#MODSEC_50_PLESK="yes"#g', '/etc/asl/config']' returned non-zero exit status 2.

Hey Brian,
Not sure if you saw this article - seems to be an issue with Atomic:

To correct it, I had to run: aum -u

I have the same problem than finbarr69 with Atomic.

I try to Update the aum package to the latest version with this ssh command: aum -u

But there is this error below:

Analyzing system ... error:failed to load config:File not found: /var/awp/etc/config

How to fix this problem?

Please find a Plesk screenshot of the error message.

Here's how I fixed it.

1. Switch to Comodo (Free)(Gratuit)

2. Login via SSH/Console

# touch /var/awp/etc/config
# aum -u
# ln -s /var/awp/bin/aum /var/asl/bin/aum

3. Switch back to Atomic Standard
