• Debian 11 is approaching its end-of-life (vendor EOL date - August 31, 2026). Plesk Obsidian 18.0.80 will be the last release to support it.
If you are running Plesk Obsidian on Debian 11, we recommend you upgrade those servers to Debian 12 using our dist-upgrade tool.
  • We plan to deprecate and remove the support for XML RPC protocol versions earlier than 1.6.9.1 in Plesk Obsidian 18.0.82. We strongly recommend that you update all existing integrations using earlier versions of the XML RPC protocol to comply with the version 1.6.9.1 specification.

Windows to Linux Migration

Hello,

Been stuck on this for a long time I hope someone here can help...

I have two boxes,

one is win2003 with plesk 8.6
second is centos5 with plesk 9.2

I want to get rid of my windows box because I have no use for asp.net and run only open source programs. But I have over 2gb of emails on the win box running on hmail 4.

So I tried the backup dump.psa and then convert to 9 method using florianJ's instructions. Created a 9 friendly dump folder with all xml files and zips. Copied this to the linux box and using the PMM web GUI I tried to import everything but I get lots of errors with ssl-html and iis-pool tags generated by the xml.

These are fixable once I get into the xml file and I remove the tags. But even after doing so, I import using PMM web GUI and I get all the email accounts created automatically but no emails?!

Is there any way I can migrate my email across from this horrible windows plesk experience to the linux box?

I tried to upgrade my win 8.6 plesk to 9.2.1 to see if I can create a 9.2 backup dump using the newer plesk but I found no backup tool, only found the pre9converter tool...

Been searching forever online and throughout the forums here.

Please for the love of God, someone give me a tip on how to finally fix this!

Thanks,

Jia
