  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
    If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.

Cannot dump client - not supported

New Pleskian
Hello,

I am new user in Plesk since some weeks and I have a V-Server which is fully installed now. I have Problem with the Backup-Manager. There I created a backup for the Server Configuration (no files) and from some of my Domains/cliens I got the following error message:

client xxx is skipped from backup due to error: Cannot dump client 'xxx' of type 'client', parent 'xxx' type 'client' not supported! at /opt/psa/PMM/agents/PleskX/PleskX.pm line 1320.

Can you help me please? Is there anything in the configuration which Needs to be corrected? I have some more Domains/customers where it works, only with 3 of them it does not work.
It is a local backup, not with FTP.

Thanks upfront

Hi spookie,

first of all, please always consider to provide informations about your operating system and the current Plesk version ( incl. MU ) in use, when you ask for help. It makes investigations easier.

Because you didn't specify your current Plesk version, I am now going to assume, that you use "Plesk 12.5".

Plesk 12.5 now has additional options, when using the "Plesk Self Repair Utility". As for example:

plesk repair db

... which will "aspect diagnoses and troubleshoots issues with the Plesk database" and trying to repair them. You could find more informations about the "Plesk Self Repair Utility" here:

For further investigations, you could as well post the output of:

plesk db
select id,parent_id, vendor_id,type from clients where type='client';

I am sorry, you are right with Plesk 12.5 with all Updates and Ubuntu 14.04.03 LTS.

Have used the plesk repair all and it Shows me everything OK, no Errors or Problems.

Where can I find the "plesk db" file?

Hi spookie,

"plesk db" is a command, which will open a connection your MySQL - server as admin ( root ) over the command line. The second line is the SQL - query, which should result in a list - output.

Which Option should I use there? I tried "tee" but the System does not write something in the temp txt file I created.

My try inside mysql: tee /tmp/mysql/output.txt

??? :rolleyes:

My suggestion was to list your clients, based on ID, parent ID and vendor ID, to see, if there might be any wrong settings.
plesk db
select id,parent_id, vendor_id,type from clients where type='client';
The command "plesk db" connects you to your psa database, as you already may have noticed.
The command "select id,parent_id, vendor_id,type from clients where type='client';" is a SQL - query, which should give you the desired list as an answer, directly on the command line. Just copy&paste that as your next answer.

mysql> select id,parent_id, vendor_id,type from clients where type='client';
+----+-----------+-----------+--------+
| id | parent_id | vendor_id | type |
+----+-----------+-----------+--------+
| 5 | 1 | 1 | client |
| 6 | 1 | 1 | client |
| 7 | 1 | 1 | client |
| 8 | 1 | 1 | client |
| 9 | 8 | 8 | client |
| 10 | 7 | 7 | client |
| 11 | 10 | 10 | client |
| 12 | 5 | 5 | client |
| 13 | 12 | 12 | client |
| 14 | 1 | 1 | client |

Hi spookie,

I'm not completely sure, if ID 9,10,11,12,13 are correct. Please wait for an Odin - Team - member to answer this question ( or any other forum - user, who knows that better, than I do ).

Yes, I suppose there is misconfiguration for possible resellers and clients type. Anyway I suggest you contact Odin Support Team for deep investigation and fixing this possible database inconsistency directly on your server.

I have no contract to create a Support ticket, already tried this before I registered here. At creating the email Ticket I added my Plesk Serial and the System has not accepted it. So at the Moment you will be my Chance to find a solution.

No sorry, those Prices are not from this world and are not acceptable for a private Person. For this costs my Family can eat over a week.

After lot of Work with the PSA database the backups are running which are manually. Now it Looks much better in the structure than before, I created the chaos myself.

At the Moment I have another Problem, the backup is running automatically and now I got this:

"The following error occurred during the scheduled backup process:
database is locked"

At this Domain I have no database. Do you have an idea where I can look?
