Can't access Web stats (Webalizer)

Scott.B

Basic Pleskian
I'm running Plesk 11.5.30 update #30

I created a new user role called WebStats and and granted only access to View statistics then created a new user and assigned them to the newly created user role.

I'm able to log into the panel with the new user and they are able to see statistics, but if they click on the web statistics it opens a new tab and they are prompted for a username and password again, I tried entering their panel username and password but it does not work. There is a related post at http://forum.parallels.com/showthread.php?296359-Stats-Only-Access&highlight=stats. I went on the note saying to access it directly via http://domain.com/plesk-stat/ and created an ftp account for the user, but it still does not work. The only FTP account that works is the main ftp account for the domain, I can't even login using the main admin panel user that has full control over the server and panel.

I read other posts where issues similar to this were fixed in 11.5, but I'm still having problems.

On a side note I have a couple question in relation to this. When I access stats from the panel it loads all domains without a www eg: domain.tld/plesk-stat/webstat/ for me this causes a problem as currently our internal domain uses the same domain name as out outside website (I'm going to be changing that this year, inherited this from previous tech). How can I change this behaviour in Plesk Panel. Also if I access the stats directory outside of panel eg: http://www.domain.tld/plesk-stat/webstat it redirects me to https://domain.tld/plesk-stat/webstat to which I then have to edit this link again and put in the www.

Any help on these problems would be greatly appriciated.

OK well I figured out how to get access to the stats from both plesk management screens and from the accessing the webstats directly through the link https://www.domain.tld/plesk-stat/webstat/. I found an area in the plesk panel when under Home/Subscriptions/domain.tld/Websites & Domains/domain.tld/Password protected directories. I created a user there and sure enough I was able to login, but I have a double login meaning one to log into the panel and another login to access webstats.

However this problem still exists... can anyone help me with this? There must be a config file I can edit someone that will generate the link differently.

Can anyone help me with the second issue where the stats page doesn't apply the www to the url?

Thank you

webstats folder is password protected with the same credentials as for the ftp user on vhost creation. If you don't like or want this feature edit the Service Plan used to deploy the host, its under Service_plan_name -> Hosting Parameters -> accessible via password protected directory '/plesk-stat/webstat/' (untick this)

Note you can also access webstats for a domain with The http://domain.tld./webstat. If the password protection is off then anyone can browse the sites webstats if they know where to look. So may be a privacy issue if you remove it.

First thank you for responding.

I understand how to access the directory directly via http://domain.tld/plesk-stat/webstat and the protected directory options, at first I did not, but then dug through the system more and found my answers.

The question I still have is to change how plesk generates the link whether I access the webstat via plesk panel or through direct link it omits the www in front of the domain.tld. This causes a problem for us because we have the same internal domain name as we do outside on the internet.

Hmm that's odd, our plesk servers work with and without the www's and also with and without /plesk-stat/ being included. If you want to change plesk behaviour try adding a custom alias to the sites vhost.conf but as for the link in plesk, its hardcoded as far as i know.
