How can i separate an email account to different mail server?

smartnetcorfu

New Pleskian
Dear all,
i have an interesting quiestion (i believe) . In our VPS server we have several mail accounts under several different domains. In one domain of these my client has about 10 email acounts . My question is: How can i separate only one email account " [email protected]" to a different mail server (exchange server actually) and the rest of the email accounts keep using the current VPS server?

Thanks in advance.

You can simply configure the exchange server to collect email for that single address from the mailbox for that address on your VPS (via a pop3 connector -- I think that's what they are called in Exchange, anyway). This is probably the simplest and easiest thing to do. Your server will then receive the email, but the exchange server will collect it from the VPS every X minutes (depending on how the exchange server is set up).

Thank you Faris for your idea , i have to admit that i never thought that . It seems quite useful . I'll try it and report if something goes wrong. Thanks a lot!

Ok , tried hard but there's not any POP3 connector , also even if this solution could happen there would be a problem when the user wants to reply thru his exhange account. The recepient of the mail would't see the same address in "from field". So unfortunatelly it seems that problem remains. i have solved this in different occasions, with different methods.

is that exchange of yours a local server? a 3rd party hosting? do yo uadmin it yourself?
what OS version? win 2003? win 2008? sbs 2011?
which exchange version?

etc.

i could try and help you out, but i need more info.
