  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Resolved Mail Import from non Plesk-Server

Hello friends,

i had a question about importing mail-accounts to plesk from a non-plesk system into a plesk system.

Is it possible? And how does it work,- is a workaround available?

Best regards

There’s a tool called IMAP SYNC. You would essentially create the account in Plesk and then provided it the credentials for both.

I found a different solution in collaboration with the plesk-premium-support:

1.
The Plesk Migrator program is the recommended way to migrate.
For source servers without Plesk (custom hosting / non-Plesk system) such a migration is only on the command line and you would have to manually create a hosting description file for the migration.
The installation, configuration, and execution procedures are explained in more detail in the following Knowledge Base article: How to migrate from a Linux server with custom hosting to Plesk?
It also refers to the relevant parts of the documentation Migrating from Custom Hosting.

2.
Often the Maildir structure is used on the source and the destination server, it is possible to simply copy the mails from the file system to the other server. To do this, however, the domain (s) and mailboxes must first have been manually created on the Plesk Onyx server.

3.
A feature to migrate mailboxes directly from a server without Plesk to Plesk Onyx does not exist.
You should be able to migrate using the third-party programs IMAPSync and the RCimapSync you mentioned.

Thanks for your reply.

Hello,

Could you please clarify, which control panel operate on your source server? Plesk Migrator is able to migrate also from cPanel and DirectAdmin out of the box.

Also you might be interested that we plan to release a tool which can import emails from any hosting platform. But you need to know mailbox credentials to use it.
