• The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Migration - copy or move?

I'm going to migrate a system from a server with plesk 8.6 to a new server with plesk 11 (the latest version at the time of final migration).

I'm going to migrate the entire server (first time with exception of the license), and se how everything works with new php versions and so.

The problem is that I can't find information anywhere what a migration actually is defined to be; is it a move or copy? Of course, the domains migrated should end up on the new server, but should they also stay on the old server, so I safely can try a couple of dry runs before the actual migration, or may I end up with losing the domains from the old server while testing?

Thanks, there was the note I havn't found earlier!

I assume from "This utility runs on a destination server and automatically copies hosting data from your source Panel" that it should per definition stay on the source server also.

What confuses me is that I interpret "transfer" (the work used everywhere else) as "move" not "copy", which would imply remove from source server. And I can't see anywhere explicitly in the documentation (else from above) that the data stays...

Pengi, its a copy and not a move. ALL data stays intact on the source server. But a copy of the same data is copied to the destination server.
