• Debian 11 is approaching its end-of-life (vendor EOL date - August 31, 2026). Plesk Obsidian 18.0.80 will be the last release to support it.
If you are running Plesk Obsidian on Debian 11, we recommend you upgrade those servers to Debian 12 using our dist-upgrade tool.
  • We plan to deprecate and remove the support for XML RPC protocol versions earlier than 1.6.9.1 in Plesk Obsidian 18.0.82. We strongly recommend that you update all existing integrations using earlier versions of the XML RPC protocol to comply with the version 1.6.9.1 specification.

Opening a backup file, plesk 8

Does anyone know how to open the Plesk Backup file and extracting individual files?

I have a FC3 box running Plesk 8. I create a backup file and transfer it to my local windows computer. Is it possible to extract all the files? If so how? I know its stored in gzip format but I still can’t seem to get to the data.

It's a combination of Winrar and Winzip, if I recall.
http://forum.swsoft.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=32448 discusses it to some extent, as they try to figure out how to actually restore data that was created with the 8.0 backup.
A search of "backup file" in the Plesk 8 section here will return a few other results. I know there was a more in-depth topic on how to do it, but I can't find it now.
