Plesk does not like my FTP backup server

I am running Plesk 12 on a dedicated server at OVH and am using their FTP backup service.
However, Plesk seems to have trouble talking to that FTP server. When configuring it in the Plesk GUI, it returns an error because it thinks it cannot find the test file created, however in the error message itself you can see the listing returned by the server ("..", "." and the test file itself), and I can also verify via ftp client that the test file gets created.
I managed to activate the configuration by setting it manually in the sql database. Backup works fine to FTP, the files get uploaded and I can also see the list of backups in the Plesk GUI. However, removing a backup in FTP also does not work.
I tried both active and passive mode, no difference.
Unfortunatelly I cannot tell which FTP server brand / version this is. A Plesk 11.5 install on another server works fine, but then it also uses another FTP server, so there might be differences there.
Anyone else having problems with FTP?

it sounds like several possibilities....

The first ones I got in my brain:

*) Passive/Active mode problem?
*) Remove the file and try again
*) Connection problems while test is running

Repository error: created file not present in directory listing

This is the error message when I save the FTP repository settings. I added the linebreaks for better understanding.
As you can see, backups are there, and even the "check0" file is there. Well, actually it's a directory for some reason.

I tried active/passive and removing the file, still the error.
Also, I don't think it's a connection problem since Plesk actually gets a full reply from the FTP server.

Same thing for me. After upgrading from 11.5 to 12.0.18 I can not configure ftp backup server any more. Same server was working fine with 11.5.

The issue was reproduced on test environment and reported to developers (PPP-10433 for references). It will be fixed in nearest microupdates.

It was fixed but now it gives another error for scheduled backups:

Unable to rotate dump: The dump rotation is failed with code '1' at /usr/local/psa/admin/bin/plesk_agent_manager line 1041.

When I try to configure FTP Backup Server, I have error "Transport error: unable to list directory: Curl error: Login denied". Same server was working fine with 11.5
