Question Secure Plesk Backup FTP connections

Hi,
How can we check FTP connections made by Plesk backup to our backup repo are secure (SFTP or FTPs).
We always check SFTP in FTP repository setup but is it mandatory ? Perhaps it come down to FTP ...

If it is not secured how to do it ?

Set the FTP server of your FTP backup space to allow secure connections only.
