Separate httpsdocs / httpdocs folders after upgrade from old plesk

BrianJohnson

New Pleskian
My host recently upgraded the Plesk panel on my virtual server, I'm not sure what version it was before but it seemed really old. At the time, all the http and https documents had to be separated from each other. The former would go in the httpdocs folder and the latter would go into httpsdocs. Literally, if someone viewed a page that started with https, they would be redirected to the other folder.

Now, from what I understand, this was a feature that was deprecated as of plesk 11. But when my host upgraded, those two folders remained. And here's the kicker: Their functionality did as well. I cannot have an https page within the httpdocs folder, and it's driving me crazy. I don't know if they had to put in a special hack to maintain that functionality, I just want to figure out how to make it go away.

I tried doing some kind of link between the folders, but it required me to delete the httpsdocs folder and somehow I don't have any permissions for that, even after adding them or using sudo. Really I can't change any of the server's files. So I don't know what to tell me host to get them to fix it, I believe they are trying right now but I really just need it done. Is there some easy setting somewhere I can use to allow https documents in the httpsdocs folder???

There should be a tick box in "Show advanced options" -> Website scripting and security.

Just under where you select the SSL certificate, it should say something like "Compatibility mode for legacy option" and there should be a tick box you can untick underneath there.

You are truly a god among men.

That was absolutely it! So simple... And yet about a week of googling and customer support were not able to tell me that! Thank you so much, this will make my life so much easier! If you don't mind, I gave you credit at my blog, hopefully others will be able to find this post and be helped by such an obvious, easy fix.
