Sitebuilder 3.x for Linux

Jeronimo is correct. Here is a reply from SwSoft:
This is due to the fact that SBL 3.0 does not support old design template
format. This fact is briefly mentioned in the release notes document.
Unfortunately there is no automated way of uninstalling the old template
packs, so the users have to do that manually prior to installing the
siteBuilder 3.0 over an existing 2.1.3 installation.

Slightly weird,

Im gearing up for upgrade and noticed that:

in the pre-requisites on the product page for SB3 it says:
- # Apache web server 1.3.x or higher
- # Apache web server 2 or higher

But in the txt file located at : http://download1.swsoft.com/SiteBuilder/3.0/sitebuilder-3.0.0-build06091819.txt

it only mentions apache 2.x as required, but not apache 1.3x

does that mean, I must upgrade apache to 2.x or did they just forget on the txt file to list it?

I think that release notes are more important than pre-requisites on the product page for SB3

BUT, due to the difference between OSs, the dependencies are differ too: for some OSs it requires apache2, for another - httpd ...

Which OS do you use?

Well I'm down to 2 problems

- I can't install the templates (I rpm -e'ed the old ones but new ones won't install)
- Won't accept my license from 2.x

Similar issue with Sitebuilder for Plesk

Hi,

I ran into the same problem with my Sitebuilder 3 for Plesk on RHEL3 and ended up installing all the Templates from the Packs directory instead, after that ran sb_config and all my templates are fine now. For my licensing i had to call in person an had it resolved with an activation code.

Yea, I ended up contacting my sales guy and got a license. For the templates I just ended up doing rpm -ivh --nodeps --force *.rpm and they seemed to go fine.

I'm "missing" some of the things from the old verison however. It's looking like we'll have to go in and modify the actual templates now to remove the SWSoft name/logo etc. Another email to my sales guy to make sure that is still "legal".

I forced the install of the templates but just a few are showing up.

I then run sb_config and get this:
bash-3.00# sb_config
Can't connect to MySQL server on localhost:3306: Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: NO)
Please define proper connection settings using the --db_host and --db_port keys.

try adding --db_admin_passwd= with your mysql root password and --update_templates.

There is no fix, you have to get a new key or authorization code from your salesperson at SwSoft.

Yea, I ran sb_config with the templates opition, then just ran it by itself. None of my templates show up. Strange. It shows they are already installed:

upgrade to 3.0.0

Hey, I'm not much into upgrading sitebuilder (but indeed I use it lol), now, i noticed it has php5 rpms, does it upgrades the whole-server-php instalation of php, migrating it to php5?

why I ask this, well the server where I have the sitebuilder, runs with php4, and ALL of the sites that uses php and I mean ALL OF THEM use php4, and DO NOT want to migrate their code to php5.

So better safe than sorry, I want to know if this php rpm's are for the whole server, or only for plesk/sitebuilder.
