Question Upgrade MariaDB from 10.x to 11.x via Plesk?

Hi,

Apologies if this has been asked before but I'm unable to find it within the forums (most are related to Linux), Google doesn't tell me much either.

Within Plesk Tools & Settings > Updates > Summary: The "Update Components" is faded (inactive) but when I visit Add/Remove Components within the MySQL server dropdown it lists MariaDB 10.11 server (currently installed) and then MariaDB 11.8 Server. I'd like to install and use 11.8 but I need some reassurance that a migration of the current data/settings from 10.11 server will be migrated to the new 11.8 server.

Years ago we swapped from MySQL to MariaDB using this component swap process, I just need confirmation it will do the same now as it did then (https://support.plesk.com/hc/en-us/...-1-to-MySQL-5-7-in-Plesk-Obsidian-for-Windows)

Annoyingly, on Linux this is all done with an Upgrade Now button in Tools & Settings > Database Servers. It's a pity it's not available to Windows also.

Thank you :)

Hi, @SDGPete . Selecting MariaDB 11.8 in "Add/Remove Components" will trigger an in-place upgrade of the database server. The process preserves your databases and users. Although relatively safe, it is strongly advisable to have a full server snapshot.
