  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Resolved No webmail available (MailEnable)

Basic Pleskian
Hi

i just changed webmailsettings of one of my domains from Horde to Mailenable.
But if i now try to connect to webmail i just get the web server's default page...
This is only for http, with https webmail is available.

Another problem is that i cannot connect any MailEnable mail account with any mailclient bcs the smtp server isn't found and/or accessiable

i tried various combinations of mail.mydomain.com/smtp.mydomain.com on ports 25/587 and on "auto" "ssl" "tls" "none" security settings. But no success.

Server is freshly set up, just updated with all security patches.

Windows Server 2012R2 + Plesk Onyx 17.0.17

In Plesk managing email functionality is "Enabled", MailEnable is the chosen mailserver anything else -> Plesk standard

I can send and receive mails within webmail but wether outlook nor thunderbird can find the smtp server settings (imap server was found on mail.mydomain.com).
If i do a ping on smtp.mydomain.com it is found and i get answer from my correct ip adress.

I have no idea anymore what to do and where to look....and i guess i should not work around myself in IIS....this should plesk be able to configure....

Any ideas for me ?

Even this problem i solved myself. It was a couple of hours searching and testing around...but...i found out what's wrong...

I installed a cerificate from "Let's Encrypt" for my domain. When i set up the mailservice i chose to use the cerificate also for email

In the moment you do that, mailenable/Plesk sets webmail to port 443 (forced, impossible to change in console !) and you cannot access webmail anymore by normal http:80 connection.

The right thing would be that BOTH is enabled an a user can chose....but the screen of a standard page i think this is another problem in "Plesk Bugnyx....sorry...Onyx".
And no information or warning at all that if you want to install a certificate that there are forced changes...

With Plesk Onyx i have the strong feeleing to work in an early beta state....sorry...

That happend always in Plesk 17 when enable or change SSL.

You can FIX like you or go to IIS > mewebmail edit bidding and add your domain to the list
