• Please be aware: Kaspersky Anti-Virus has been deprecated
With the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.64, "Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Servers" will be automatically removed from the servers it is installed on. We recommend that you migrate to Sophos Anti-Virus for Servers.
  • The Horde webmail has been deprecated. Its complete removal is scheduled for April 2025. For details and recommended actions, see the Feature and Deprecation Plan.
  • We’re working on enhancing the Monitoring feature in Plesk, and we could really use your expertise! If you’re open to sharing your experiences with server and website monitoring or providing feedback, we’d love to have a one-hour online meeting with you.

Issue Subscriptions getting suspended

Hi Team,

We are facing issues of the Reseller being suspended on Daily basis. Upon checking the issue we found that the suspension reason is the assignment of Mailbox storage above the Reseller Plan.
However, then how can we assign extra storage to the mailboxes, when its required to be extended.

Lets say domainA.com has 5 mailboxes. He now requires 1 Gb extra mailbox space on a specific mailbox. We increase that space from the SmarterMail (Remote). However the next day, the Reseller is found to be suspended, as we have set the limit as "Overuse is not allowed".

NOTE:
1. Need to increase mailbox space, without triggering the suspension of the subscription/reseller, the mailbox is hosted under.
2. Using Remote SmarterMail Server 16.3.6989.16341

How can we overcome this issue. Please suggest solutions.

Hi Peter,
Thanks for getting back.

The plan limit will also allow the other mailboxes size to be increase by the customer.
The reseller only wishes to increase the space of the 1 mailbox.

Thus, we increased the space from SmarterMail directly.
How can this be achieved from Plesk, without having the reseller/subscription suspended, due to allotting over-quota space.

Example scenario:
Reseller has the limit for Mailbox size as 250 Mb

The customer plan also has the limit of the 250 Mb

Now reseller wants to assign 1 Gb to a certain mailbox for that customer.

As there is a logical contradiction I am afraid that your demand cannot be met. If the account limit is 250 MB and overuse is not allowed, you cannot at the same time set a mailbox size limit of 1 GB and expect that the system allows it. You either have to allow 1 GB for the account in general or you need to allow overuse in the service plan.
